United Nations Security Council Resolution 509 – Israel-Lebanon
Resolution 509 (1982) of 6 June 1982
The Security Council,
Recalling its resolutions 425 ( 1978) and 508 (1982).
Gravely concerned at the situation as described by the Secretary-General in his report to the Council,
Reaffirming the need for strict respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence of Lebanon within its internationally recognized boundaries,
- Demands that Israel withdraw all its military forces forthwith and unconditionally to the internationally recognized boundaries of Lebanon;
2. Demands that all parties observe strictly the tenm of paragraph I of resolution 508 (1982) which call~<_i on them to cease immediately and simultaneously all military activities within Lebanon and across the Lebanese-Israeli border;
3. Calls on all parties to communicate to the Secretary General their acceptance of the present resolution within twenty-four hours;
4. Decides to remain seized of the question.
