United Nations Security Council Resolution 720 – Appointment of the new Secretary-General

Resolution 720 (1991) of 21 Novernber 1991

The Security Council,

Resolution 720 (1991) or 21 Novernber 199.

Having considered the question of the recomrnendation for the appointrnent of the Secretary-General of the United Nations,

Recommends to the General Assembly that Mr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali be appointed Secretary-General of the United Nations for a term of office frorn 1 January 1992 to 31 December 1996.

Adopted unanimously al the 3017th (closed) meeting.
