Section 36 Civil Aviation Act 2022

Section 36 of the Civil Aviation Act 2022 is about Power to request for information. It is under Part VII (Powers of the Authority to Control and Regulate Civil Aviation) of the Act.

(1) For the purpose of obtaining required information for the proper performance of the functions conferred upon it by this Act, any authorised officer of the Authority may by notice in writing —
(a) require any person who undertakes the business of air transport including carriage of passengers or goods in an aircraft for reward, to furnish such information relating to such business and flights as may be specified in
the notice ; and

(b) specify the times and the form and manner in which, any information required under paragraph (a) shall be furnished.

(2) In performing the functions conferred on the Authority by subsection
(1), an authorised officer of the Authority shall have unrestricted access to inspect the business premises, aircraft, structures and other apparatus and documents used by any operator for the purpose of air transport or related
operations.

(3) In this section, “authorised officer” means the Director-General or any other officer of the Authority specifically or generally authorised by the Director-General to perform the functions of the Authority under this Act.
