Section 19 Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018

Section 19 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 is about Secretary to the Commission. It is under Part IV (Management and Staff of the Commission) of the Act.

(1) The Executive Vice-Chairman shall be-
(a) the Chief Executive Officer of the Commission;
(b) primarily responsible for the execution of the policies and decisions of the Board and for the
day-to-day management and supervision of the activities of the Commission; and

(c) a person possessing sound knowledge of and ability in the organisation and management of
competition and or consumer protection matters and shall hold office for a term of four years which may be renewed for another term and no more.

(2) The Executive Commissioners shall be persons possessing sound knowledge of and ability in the organisation and management of regulatory matters with respect to competitive and consumer protection matters and shall hold office for a term of four years which may be renewed for another term and no more.

(3) The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping the corporate records of the Commission and discharging such other duties as the Executive Vice-Chairman or the Commission may assign.
