Section 147 Indian Penal Code

Section 147 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 is about Punishment for rioting. It is under CHAPTER VIII (OF OFFENCES AGAINST THE PUBLIC TRANQUILLITY) of the Code.

Punishment for rioting

Whoever is guilty of rioting, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
