Section 15 CAMA 2020

Section 15 Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020, is about Annual accounts, audit and estimates. It is under PART A (CORPORATE AFFAIRS COMMISSION) of the Act.

Annual accounts, audit and estimates

(1) The financial year of the Commission starts on the 1st day of January and end on the 31st day of December of the same year or any time as may be prescribed by Financial Regulations issued by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

(2) The Commission shall keep proper accounts and records in relation thereto and shall prepare in respect of each year a statement of accounts in such form as may be prescribed by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

(3) The accounts of the Commission shall be audited, not later than six
months after the end of the year, by auditors appointed by the Commission from the list and in accordance with guidelines issued by the Auditor-General for the Federation, and the fees of the auditors and the expenses of the audit generally shall be paid from the funds of the Commission.

(4) The Commission shall, not later than 30th September in each year, cause to be prepared an estimate of the expenditure and income of the Commission during the next succeeding year and shall be submitted to the Minister.
