Section 215 Electricity Act 2023

Section 215 of the Electricity Act 2023 is about Contravention of regulations or orders. It is under Part XX (Offences and Penalties) of the Act.

A person who —
(a) fails to comply with any order, rules, decisions, licence, permits, codes, standards, direction or any other subsidiary legislation issued under this Act, within such time as may be specified in the said subsidiary legislation; or

(b) contravenes or attempts or ‘abets the contravention of any of the provisions of this Act or any rules or regulations made thereunder,
commits an offence and is liable a fine of ₦500,000, or imprisonment for a term not more than three months or with both, and in the case of a continuing offence, an additional fine not more than ₦100,000 shall be paid for every day the offence continues.
