Section 3 Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018

Section 3 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 is about Establishment of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. It is under Part II (Establishment of the Federal Competition an Consumer Protection Commission) of the Act.

(1) There is established the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (in this Act referred to as “the Commission”).

(2) The Commission shall be independent in carrying out its functions, powers, duties and responsibilities conferred upon it under this Act.

(3) The Commission –
(a) is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal;
(b) may sue and be sued in its corporate name; and

(c) may acquire, hold and dispose of property, whether movable or immoveable.

(4) The headquarters of the Commission shall be in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

(5) The Commission may establish other offices for the purpose of its business in any part of Nigeria, as the Commission may determine.
