Section 33 Civil Aviation Act 2022
Section 33 of the Civil Aviation Act 2022 is about Powers of the authority to conduct investigations. It is under Part VII (Powers of the Authority to Control and Regulate Civil Aviation) of the Act.
(1) The Authority shall have the power to perform such acts, conduct such investigations, impose such penalties, issue and amend such orders, and to make and amend such general or special rules, regulations, and procedures pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of this Act, as the Authority shall deem necessary to carry out the provisions of, and the exercise and performance of the powers and duties assigned under this Act.
(2) In the conduct of any public hearing or investigation authorised by this Act, the Authority shall have the power to take evidence, issue subpoenas, and take depositions.
(3) In the exercise and performance of the powers and duties assigned under this Act, the Authority shall consider the promotion, encouragement and development of safety and security in civil aviation as being in the public
interest.
