Section 39 National Health Act

Section 39 National Health Act 2014 is about National drugs formulary and essential drugs list and safety of drugs and food supply. It is under Part IV (Artional Health Research and Information System) of the Act.

(1) There shall be a compendium of drugs approved for use in health facilities throughout the Federation- (in this Act referred to as the “Essential Drugs List”) which shall be under the periodic review of the National Drugs Formulary, and Essential Drugs List Review Committee.

(2) Indigenous and local manufacture and production of as many items in the formulary as practicable shall be encouraged.
