Section 395 Indian Penal Code

Section 395 of the Indian Penal Code 1860 is about Punishment for dacoity. It is under ‘Of Robbery and Dacoity’ of CHAPTER XVII (OF OFFENCES AGAINST PROPERTY) of the Code.

 Punishment for dacoity

Whoever commits dacoity shall be punished with 1 [imprisonment for life], or with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
