Section 5 Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018

Section 5 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 is about Tenure of office. It is under Part II (Establishment of the Federal Competition an Consumer Protection Commission) of the Act.

(1) All Board Members, after the coming into force of this Act, shall be appointed by the President, in accordance with this Act, from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria subject to confirmation by the Senate.

(2) The Chairman and all Conm1issioners, except the Chief Executive and the Executive Commissioners, shall hold office on part-time basis.

(3) Each Commissioner shall serve for a term of four years from the date of appointment at the expiration of which the President may renew his term for a further term of four years and no more.
