Section 50 Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018
Section 50 of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 is about Procedural Rules of the Tribunal. It is under Part VII (The Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal) of the Act.
(1) The Tribunal may make rules regulating its procedures.
(2) The Tribunal shall, for the purpose of discharging its duty under this Act, have power to-
(a) summon and enforce the attendance of any person, including the power to examine a person under oath;
(b) require the discovery and production of documents;
(c) call for and examine witnesses under oath;
(d) receive evidence on affidavits; and
(e) do anything which, in the opinion of the Tribunal, is deemed necessary to issue a final and reasoned decision on the merit of the matter before it.
