Section 51 Civil Aviation Act 2022

Section 51 of the Civil Aviation Act 2022 is about Application of air services agreement and security funds. It is under Part VIII (International Obligations) of the Act.

(1) All funds accruing from or as a result of air services agreements entered into by Nigeria, whether multilateral or bilateral, shall be paid to the Authority and maintained in a separate account to be used solely for the
development of civil aviation in Nigeria in accordance with directives given by the Minister and appropriation by the National Assembly.

(2) There shall be paid on each passenger ticket for international air travel emanating from Nigeria a security surcharge as may be determined by the Authority.

(3) All funds accruing as a result of security surcharge from international flight tickets shall be paid to the Authority and maintained in a separate account to be used solely for the improvement of aviation security in Nigeria, in accordance with directions given by the Minister and appropriation by the National Assembly.
