Section 66 Civil Aviation Act 2022
Section 66 of the Civil Aviation Act 2022 is about Approved training and maintenance organisations. It is under Part X (Safety Regulation) of the Act.
The Authority shall have and exercise the powers generally to—
(a) set training standards for and approve air transport training institutions in Nigeria ;
(b) provide for the examination and rating of —
(i) training organisations giving instruction in flying, air traffic control, flight dispatch, cabin safety, aerodrome standards and air navigation standards related areas or in the repair, alteration, maintenance, and
overhaul of aircraft, aircraft engines, propellers, and appliances, as to the adequacy of the course of instruction, the suitability and airworthiness of the equipment, and the competency of the instructors, and
(ii) approved maintenance organisations for the repair, alteration, maintenance, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft engines, propellers, and appliances, as to the adequacy and suitability of the equipment, facilities, and materials for, and methods of, repair and overhaul, and the competency of those engaged in the work or giving any instruction therein ; and
(c) issue certificates for such training organisations and approved maintenance organisations.
