Section 9 Electricity Act 2023

Section 9 of the Electricity Act 2023 is about Sale and purchase of electricity and ancillary services. It is under Part III (Development of a Competitive National Electricity Market) of the Act.

(1) The sale and purchase of electricity and ancillary services during the medium-term market stage shall be ir. accordance with the provisions of the market rules and the grid code.

(2) For effective operation of the long-term market established by the Commission under section 8 (2) of this Act, the Commission shall, in accordance with the procedure for amendment of the market rules, approve such amendments to the market rules to prescribe the preconditions for the declaration of the long-term market and the Commission shall further introduce a retail tariff scheme for retail sale of electricity under long term market as may be appropriate.
