Section 181 Indian Contract Act 1872

Section 181 of the Indian Contract Act 1872 is about Apportionment of relief or compensation obtained by such suits. It is under “Suits by bailees or bailors against wrong-doers” of CHAPTER IX of the Act. CHAPTER IX is titled OF BAILMENT.

Apportionment of relief or compensation obtained by such suits

Whatever is obtained by way of relief or compensation in any such suit shall, as between the bailor and the bailee, be dealt with according to their respective interests.
